I’ve never really had Japanese cheese appetizers, until I went to Tenya. They’re all interesting! Who would’ve thought 🙂
My favorite among the three is the Chikuwa Cheese. It’s fried Japanese fish cake with cheddar cheese filling.
Second is the Cheese Age. This is crunchy fired wanton dumpling skin filled with cheddar cheese. This reminds me of cheese sticks.
Third, Isobe Cheese. This is tempura-fried roasted seaweed filled with cheddar cheese.
And you might also want to try a non-cheese menu item, the Ningyo-Yaki Box. It’s a box full of cute bear-shaped Japanese cake filled with dulce de leche or nutella.
My next visit to Tenya, I’d love to try their tempura rice meals and hot soba menu items.
