brotzeit-sharing-the-joyBROTZEIT German Bier Bar & Restaurant has a special menu available only this season to give its guests a taste of German Christmas. The menu here changes every season, and that’s something we can always be excited about.brotzeit-christmas-menu-007

Wild Mushroom Soup
This should be a staple. It’s very filling and the taste of mushrooms awakened my senses. It’s made of pureed mushrooms with herbs and spices.

Roasted Duck with Napkin Dumpling

The honey roasted duck was delicious. It’s perfectly cooked, served in its juices. It’s savory and the hint of orange makes it more tasty. This is served with a napkin dumpling. It’s called such because it’s traditionally boiled using napkins. It’s usually made of bread, eggs, onions, herbs, butter, and milk. The dish also comes with sauerkraut, and Brotzeit serves the best saurekraut I’ve tried. Sauerkraut is fermented cabbage.

Beef Wellington
This is tender and tasty beef baked in puff pastry. The red wine sauce that goes with it complements the dish. Roasted potatoes are served on the side.

Broiled Pork Belly
It’s German, but it definitely resonates with the Pinoy palate, especially since we love lechon and crispy pata. The meat is tasty and the pork skin’s crunchy.

Pumpkin Brulee
It’s a perfect German dessert served during Christmas season. It’s made of glazed pumpkin custard topped with cinnamon cream. It has spices and the taste of ginger blends so well with the pumpkin and cinnamon flavors.
