Pedervera Beach Resort

Peaceful and quiet… and affordable too!

While the other resorts along Sabang Beach in Baler have tourists crowding the area, Pedervera Beach Resort offers you a place far from the noise and the partying. Some prefer to be in a secluded area to enjoy the vacation more.

My friends and I enjoyed our air-conditioned room. It has bunk beds good for six individuals. It has a veranda with a table and chairs. The Bunk Bed Room comes with free breakfast too. All that for just Php2,700 as of October, 2014. Imagine six friends splitting the bill! That would be Php450 per person only.

The room has one bathroom, but if you and your friends are in a hurry, you can use the shower rooms and toilets near the parking area of the resort.

Also near the parking area is a tree house where you can go to get a good view of the beach. The beach is located in front of the resort. However, you need to inform the staff if you intend to swim so they could send someone to keep watch. The waves are pretty big in this area and they would like guests to remain safe. They also offer free use of surfboards and life vests upon availability.

After swimming, you can relax in their cottages for free. If that got you hungry, don’t worry. They have a restaurant. You can also cook your own food in their kitchen. Another option is for you to buy ingredients from the market and ask the resort staff to cook for you.

Still on food, I loved their version of tapsilog. Be sure to request for this for your free breakfast. It has crispy shredded meat, sunny side up egg, and fried rice. (For their menu, go to the bottom of this article)

Jon Dingle, the resort’s manager, said the name Pedervera is a combination of the last names of his mother, De Vera, and his stepfather, Pedersen. He said their goals include making guests enjoy the tranquility of the place and make them feel at home.

Going to Pedervera is easy if you bring your car. But if not, you can hire a tricycle and give the driver the address to bring you to the resort. Better ask for the driver’s number and tell him to pick you up the next day if you’re planning to go around town.
