Multi-awarded restaurant, XO46 Heritage Bistro, introduces their special dish of the month: Piyaparan A Manok (Php495). Available for only a limited period.
Piyaparan A Manok
It’s a Maranao chicken dish making use of palapa. Palapa is a paste, rubbed on the chicken that’s made of sauteed sakurab (shallot or leeks from the onion family), ginger and chili peppers. For this dish, aside from the palapa, Piyapara A Manok also has turmeric, lemon grass and coconut cream.
It’s topped with crispy fried shallots and cilantro. It’s slightly sweet, subtly spicy, creamy and just full of wonderful flavors.
When you buy this dish, you don’t just treat yourself to the awesome and delicious experience, but you also help our brethren in Marawi. Part of the proceeds from every order of Piyaparan A Manok will be donated to the restaurant’s partner NGO helping rehabilitate the war-torn Marawi.
I first tried and enjoyed Piyaparan A Manok at XO46’s branch, Estancia Mall. Also in their menu are other delightful food items.
Lengua Estofada (Php675) has the most tender ox tongue that melts in your mouth. Its sauce is thick, rich, tasty and topped with roasted garlic, finger chili, olives and tomatoes. This dish made me feel a little bit more special.

Lechon Cebu Con Salsa Oliva (Php695) brings you the crunchy pork lechon skin, the tasty Cebu lechon meat, cashews, raisins and olives, olives, and olives!!!

For dessert, try their Halo Halo (Php145). It’s my most favorite halo halo that you can actually drink!!! Instead of using regular crushed ice, their halo halo has caramel slush that can be sipped through the straw. And the usual halo halo ingredients are still there: leche flan, ube, pinipig, beans, and more.

Casava Cake At Pinaalat Na Caramel (Php175) has that perfect combination of sweet and salty, cassava cake, topped with salted caramel sauce and cheese, served with ice cream.
